Parent Teacher Group

The Parent Teacher Group was formed to provide dedicated services to enrich the Catholic school lives of students, parents, teachers, and school administrators.  Membership is open to teachers and all parents/guardians of St. Lucy School Students.  Annual membership fee is $20. PTG services are based on three distinct areas:    

Communication:  To foster a spirit of cooperation between the school and parish.  PTG provides a channel of communication between home, school, and parish.  We assist in providing a volunteer network in support of school functions and programs.  Our services include: Monthly PTG Newsletter, the School Directory, Summer Mailer, and General Meetings with Educational Speakers.    

Fundraising:  To facilitate financial support for the school by organizing fundraising activities.  During the 2007-2008 school year, PTG raised $115,000. Our goal for the 2008-2009 school year is $118,000 through FunFest, Gift Wrap, See’s Candy, and Gym Signs.    

Enrichment:  To broaden community interest in Catholic education.  PTG plans and maintains programs in support of Catholic family values in the home, community, and school.  We support parents in child guidance and education, and we provide opportunities to come together in the spirit of Christian fellowship.  Our enrichment programs include: Kick-Off to School Dinner, Parish Hospitality, Lenten Soup Supper, Uniform Exchange, Summer Kick-Off, The Parent Buddy Program, Cioppino Dinner, Spring Gala and Ministry Fair.    

Volunteerism is our cornerstone to success.  All services are provided through a dedicated network of parent and parish volunteers. All families must support FunFest either by working shifts or by chairing an event or area. We also ask you to consider how your talents, skills and experience can help PTG meet our goals this year.  Ask any PTG committee member for more information and review the Monthly PTG Newsletter for special requests.  Your consideration is greatly appreciated. We welcome your contributions.    

Donations:  Donations of goods and services are requested from time to time.  These items are essential to make auction baskets and much more. We appreciate your generous support in this area.     

The PTG Executive Committee consists of nine members. A copy of the Constitution and By-Laws is available here or from the school office.
