Wednesday Newsletter
June 2, 2010

Dear Parents

I simply cannot believe this is our last WCE for the 2009-2010 school year!  We’ve had a wonderful year, enjoyed events both new and traditional, weathered economic challenges together, and had a lot of fun!  Tomorrow night we will offer our fantastic group of eighth graders our blessings as they graduate.  Their kindergarten counterparts will follow shortly behind on Tuesday.  They have grown so much this year and we always love to see their big graduation moment!  Next week is also full of class parties, the popular Moving Up Day when students get to meet their new teachers, and our final mass together (to which you are all invited).  Soon it will be time to switch gears and enjoy a slower pace for awhile.  Whether you’re staying home this summer or traveling far away, I wish you and your family many blessings for summer rest and relaxation.  You all deserve it!

We will periodically send announcements to you, including information about when to expect the annual summer newsletter, reminders about the uniform exchange, and other important news and updates.  Please be sure to keep your e-mail address current on SchoolSpeak so you get all the summer bulletins!

As we wrap up our year, I’d like to once again say “Thank you!” to each of you for the many contributions you parents made to the St. Lucy School community this year.  Your time, energy, positive spirit, and support have made this a great year, and each of you has brought so much to your child’s school experience, both directly and indirectly.  Thank you for all your time and volunteerism.  You make St. Lucy School the wonderful, warm place it is!

With gratitude for all you do,
Jennifer Martin

Help Support Sam - As many of you know, one of our 8th graders, Sam Callahan, was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in September and has been undergoing chemotherapy to fight this terrible disease.  The family continues to appreciate your prayers and support.  Sam's Aunt has created a foundation for him and to help raise awareness and fight Ewing Sarcoma.  There will be a fundraiser to support Sam's Team Foundation and everyone is invited....all ages, family, and friends!  "Club with Sam" on Thursday, June 17th, at the Opera House in Los Gatos from 7-10pm.  Hors d'oeuvres, a DJ, and silent auction (donations welcomed).  Tickets $10.00.  Buy tickets on line, learn more about the foundation and Ewing Sarcoma at www.samsteam.org <http://www.samsteam.org/> .  Contact Megan Billinger if needed.

FUNDRAISING
Barnes & Noble Fundraiser (online purchases count too!) - Mark your calendars May 28th - June 13th.  Barnes & Noble at the Pruneyard has agreed to support St Lucy School with a two week in-store Book Fair.  What does this mean to St. Lucy's?  For every dollar we spend during this period whether it's a book, a summer workbook or a cup of coffee... Barnes & Noble will return a percentage of their revenue to our school.  Get a head start on your summer reading, pick up gifts for Father’s Day and graduations.  See the attached flyer with voucher.  In addition, there are extra vouchers to share with your family and friends.  Make sure to mention our voucher number or St. Lucy at the time of purchases in order to qualify.

School Supply Sale:  Once again, PTG is offering parents the option of a convenient way of ordering school supplies for the 2010 – 2011 school year.  Each teacher has updated their lists and Innisbrook offers one-stop shopping to get your supplies in one easy step.  You can order online at www.innisbrook.com <http://www.innisbrook.com> or fill out an order form and return it to the office.
