Dear Parents,
We are in our final ten days
before the FunFest! This is an
exciting time, and I know many of you are busy preparing.
It takes a lot of cooperative effort to put on a big event like
this, and every moment you’re spending on it is appreciated!
Thank you for all your time behind the scenes in the various areas
you’re working on and the items you’re preparing.
It’s wonderful to see it all come together, especially after the
big push you all give in the final days beforehand!
Be sure you look through all enclosures to get updates on all
aspects of the preparations underway for our FunFest.
I am pleased to report the
tremendous progress being made on our “Lighting the Way” annual
appeal! Thus far we have
received responses from about 30% of our families and our faculty.
Thank you to those of you
who have sent in your Annual Appeal response forms.
We have received replies of a wide range of contributions, and some
replies in which parents have noted that they are unable to make a
financial contribution at this time and will continue to support the
school through prayer and volunteerism.
Each and every one of these responses (regardless of contribution
level) are wonderful to receive, and we appreciate every family taking the
time to respond to this call for support!
If you have not yet returned your response, please take some time
to reflect on this appeal and participate in whatever way you are able,
through prayer or financial support. You
are all generous of heart, and it is truly awe-inspiring to see the many
ways in which you support your children’s education!
With gratitude for all you do,
Jennifer Martin

School
Board News - The School Advisory Board is seeking a volunteer
to make a significant contribution to the Marketing Committee by
spearheading our efforts to submit articles to local newspapers and
helping with other small marketing-related projects.
This includes identifying topics, taking pictures, writing
articles, and meeting newspaper deadlines.
Attendance at the monthly School Advisory Board meetings would be
helpful. This is a great opportunity to use writing and organizational
skills in order to publicize the wonderful things happening at
St.
Lucy
School
. Please contact Rebecca
Haggerty if you are interested.
Got
Tennis Balls?
Five
Wounds
School
is a school with few resources serving a population that is primarily in a
low socioeconomic demographic. Being
unable to purchase the chair feet that we all use to protect our floors
and control classroom noise, the school has sent out a request for used
tennis balls that can be placed over chair feet of any size to serve this
same purpose. If you’re a
tennis player and have acc4ss to discarded/flat tennis balls, please drop
them off in the school office and we will deliver them to Five Wounds.
Thank you!
Ladies Golf Challenge: Remember that Mrs. Martin has challenged all
ladies to join in the fun of the annual golf tournament!
Every lady golfer who gets within 50 points in either direction of
Mrs. Martin’s final score will be her guest at a lunch at Casa Lupe the
following week!
